    Genius!
Because if antagonism, jealousy, malicious bickering, indifference, and outright desertion were truly such grand manifestations of Ron's enduring passion for Hermione, I respectfully suggest that someone else will always take first place in his heart.

Whoo... this could unite enough otherwise incompatible 'ships to conquer England. :D

Sorry brain has been offline... hope enough cells will reactivate to write again soon. :)

    MISTI-Con!
    MISTI-Con

    http://www.misti-con.org/

I am ecstatic to report that in May, 2013, there will be a successor to last year's "Aeternitas" convention held in the New Hampshire lakes area north of Boston!

MISTI-Con! - same place, same concepts, same bliss - brought forward by the New York City fan club known as "The Group That Shall Not Be Named who were also involved in the 2011 event.

It was an amazing experience for me last year - one that I feared might be a once-in-a-lifetime experience, because of my physical limitations versus the sprawling big-city venues and unaccompanied travel to other events. I am agog.

...and will write again for real, soon. ;D

    Couple sick days, back soon
Sure wish I could cancel my membership in the virus-of-the-month club.

Sorry to fall behind on comments and correspondence just as it got exciting.

Will do better soon, fondly hope to sort all out, incoherent but improving.

    My life as a manatee.
Which is to say, a friendly, usually partially-submerged hazard to navigation. Having had to re-evaluate my affinity for the highly-mobile armadillo, I considered parlaying my consistent ability to detect changes in lighting and cast a shadow into a career as a groundhog... but after careful consideration, my future clearly lies in the experience of the manatee.

What I Enjoy About Fan Fiction
...as requested, so that we of the HGSS Exchange may better please each other.

I read with an adult's intellect and a child's expectations: I want a happy ending with virtue triumphant and villains suitably pasted. That's one reason I read Harry Potter in the first place: children's books always turn out all right. :D

That said, feel free to bring the angst and catastrophes - just don't get HG or SS into any trouble you can't get 'em out of, while feeling free to drop their antagonists into the doo and leave them there. Antagonists may freely include Weasleys and Malfoys, since practically all of them have disrespected Hermione at some point in canon. Suitably chastened Malfoys are welcome to ally with our duo; the Malfoy strut could only be improved by having had their arses kicked. ;D

I have no joy in either HG or SS being presented as dark or disordered personalities or as degraded or careless of their own integrity - and certainly not as careless of their own dignity, physical safety or basic strategy (please, no "went out half-dressed to get puling drunk in public in presence of sworn enemies"). I see them as being true to self and to others.

    EWE, AU, Regency - I'm easy. :D

    Experiencing technical difficulties...
along with my usual tedious excuses. My laptop hung hard and has gone to the service center, bearing with it several half-written cards, my lecture slides, and even a bit of my costume. Based on its behavior during its final moments, I rest in hope that the fault was motherboard rather than hard drive and that all shall be restored to me by the end of this week, courtesy of a rather pricey service contract I'm ever so glad to have. :D

We soldier on, the spare and I - though slowly and without most of my accommodative tweaks. No doubt I shall be better prepared for Aeternitas as a result.

ETA: Home and dry - no losses! They had to order a motherboard, and we had a car in the shop, but yesterday logistical challenges were surmounted and the flag raised. :D

    Nagini's antidote
Sorry this one is late. My goal is to post slightly more often than once a week, but I've been experimenting with some over-the-counter preparations which, although some have finally begun to show some real promise on the sinus/nerve headaches, have also handed me some interesting afternoons. Yes, I know, it's hard to tell. ;D
